What's special about the completely random key sequence of Alt-F4?. It's
only virtue is that some of us (including me) are now hard-wired to use it
due to prolonged exposure to Windows.

I will surely change it to Alt-F4 on my box, for my sanity, but I don't
see why a desktop environment aimed at usability can't have, as default, a
logically designed set of key combinations. Windows, emacs, vi, and other
sets are fine as options, but I see no reason not to have a clean,
*designed* set of key combinations presented to the new user.
