It is. But everything else lacks an X implementation :) and a spreading
of that new X implementation as well. Installations of KDE versions that
make use of that then will be widespread, but updating X servers on Sun
and other Unix OSes ? 
The current solution is the best we can get with until we have a
themable cursor in X, and we don't even have all drivers support the
RENDER extension yet...until then we have to live with circumstances and
provide this solution.
