Corel Linux Second Edition did that quite nicely! It was a bit of a hack
on kdm, but what it would do, is give a "Domain" option, and then
authenticate with the NT domain if something other than the local
hostname was specified.

I think it adduser'd a new user account to create a user account on the
machine for the user.

If you don't mind using some older KDE stuff, Corel Linux is friendly
enough in an NT network. I'm sure a developer could emulate the
procedure for a modified KDM if enough ppl want it....
