I don't understand exactly. kdm is for logging in to the local host, e.g. to 
authenticate as a user of the local machine with a password (or shared via 
nis or something).
If you want to authenticate your users completely against a PDC, you have to 
install the appropriate PAM modules, I think.
If the problem is accessing the shares of the other hosts, you can simply use 
the smb ioslave of KDE 2, it will authenticate against the PDC.
