I'm working on (when I find a minute or two here and there) a spam detection 
software. What code exists is Perl. I planned to hack KMail so I could use it 
as a filter on incoming messages. I hadn't thought of doing it as a KPart. 
That's a good idea, though.

I've thought also of adding the ability to KMail to do a dcop call in the 
filters, but I've not gotten past the stage of thinking that it would be a 
cool thing to do.

I know I should really run procmail or something, but a message filtering 
component would be a really cool thing to add to KDE and KMail, etc. I'll add 
it on to my list of "Two Million Things To Do Before I Die." If someone else 
beats me to it, then I can cross it off. :-)
