Hi!

It seems only to affect laptops, so I would blame some driver. There isn't
much KDE does to the mouse though. You may want to remove libkcmenergy
which _may_ cause this, then there is libkcminput which sets some mouse
settings. But none of this can create the bug as you report it, it has
to be the X server running wild. KDE just has no control over the mouse
pointer other than using the X server. And as it only affects specific
laptops, it's very hard to believe it's KDE's fault. But as I said, try
to get down to the module that causes your problem in removing the
kcminit call from the startkde.
