To be able to use a cdrom as a floppy disk, first the CDRW needs to be able
to do something called packet writing.... This is something that can only be
implemented at the kernel level. Once this is there, the CDRW-disc needs to
be formatted to the UDF file-format. Since kernel 2.2.something, read-only
support for CD-RW discs has existed, and RW support for other non-optical
media has existed. Jens Axobe (I believe thats the name) has a packet
writing patch for kernel 2.4 and only 2.4 in the works. Once this has been
put through, CD-RW's will be able to function like a floppy to any program,
not just KDE... They just have to be mounted.

This has nothing to do with KDE until the patch has been incorperated into
the kernel at which point we can do some UI stuff for formatting and
mounting. Until then, quit yer bitchin.
