Yes yes yes :-)) that did it. Now the error messages are gone and AA finally 
works! And it works great - I have no flicker at all, KDE behaves like 
always, and I'm sitting here in front of my (todays :-) KDE with a real big 
fat smile in the face!!

Just a small "problem": I have only 8 fonts left. The rest is gone, but I 
hope to solve this tiny thing as well...
