Settings are global, that's why there's no need for a separate setting
in configure file browser.

You have to activate this option before making the changes in the image
directory. When you have made all the changes, uncheck the option again
if you don't want that further changes are saved locally.

You can, that's the whole point of "View properties saved in directory"
