Hi from Spain!
I'm new on this list.
I downloaded yesterday from Mandrake kde2'version nš 20000621.
This is my experience:

KDEADMIN:
 -KPACKAGE.No compile.Problems on kio.cpp.What's happend with this
program? Never compile the first time,always needs to be patched.
KDEMULTIMEDIA:
 -ARTS.No compile.No found mcopidl.After when I start kde2,I found this
program on kde/bin dir,& try to compile again.No problem.
 -KMIX.No compile.Problems on kmixapplet.cpp.
KDEVELOP:
 No compile.Problems with moc,with pics...
ALL PACKAGES:
 I have not help files.Problems with docbk31 catalog.I downloaded from
kde.org the news files but I have still problems...I supose I have wrong
configured jade or docbook but I don't know how to do better...,& don't know
which file to look & change.

If anyboby has an idea??

I started kde2...
This's most important I see:

 1- On Desktop: I have a symlink to /usr/doc.I move it to trash & it
 moves...but /usr/doc moves too!!!
 2- On Desktop: I have Device links (cdrom,zip...).I can mount/umount but not
 open with konqueror.
 3- I open my animated-gif with gifview (non kde-program).I see 2 images not
 1 & not always.
 4- I have not sound.I start arts but don't works.I can hear my cds.
 5- I start kautorun.Don't mount data cds.It wants to do on /auto/cdrom &
 konqueror don't works.If I change to /cdrom konqueror open an empty
 directory.I solved with the option on "Open on insert":<<mount
 /cdrom;konqueror /cdrom>>.
 6- kppp connect but disappears,I must kill ppp by hand.
And that's all for 1 hour I "play" with kde2.
I'll continue to check...
