Fashion, hmm.  A good-looking tie is fashionable.  A blinking tie is
stupid.  But you can live without any tie at all.  The same can be said for
GUIs.

That said, there are people in the world who will buy a blinking tie (I know
one!).

Re-read my post, please, I was agreeing with Ken that these useless bells
and whistles belong in the Options menu, OFF by default.  I certainly don't
mean they should be left off entirely.

But if it's fashion you interested in, Animated menus are to a "fashionable
GUI" what Spike Jones is to music.  This, of course, is In My Humble
Opinion. <g>
