MNG is definitely poised to become a good, open standard - it grew out of
the PNG project.  My educated guess is that within a few years it'll be at
the same level of support that PNG is now.  PNG had no problem
establishing itself, probably thanks to Unisys, and I expect MNG will
follow a similar path.  Let's help it along and use it in KDE :)

Besides this, it just makes sense to use MNG, since KDE already uses PNG
over GIF.  Not to mention there's no seedy corporation that will silently
allow it to become a standard and then suddenly decide to start charging
for licensing :(
