Hrrm, actually, this was caused by a kxicq bug - it opened 1096 windows telling
me that it couldn't connect - tried all available servers, because the internet
connection for the network was down, but the thing is, kpager (I think this is
what the taskbar is called?) filled the entire screen, I couldn't do anything.
 I could click on a window icon but it would be hidden behind the taskbar, so I
couldn't actually see it.  Alt-F2 brought up the run dialog, over the taskbar,
so I ran ktop, well of course it was hidden behind so I couldn't use it.  I
finally fixed the problem by Alt-F2 - killall kxicq, but I think the taskbar
should be limited to 50% of the screen.

BTW, my settings are for the taskbar on the bottom, auto-hide, Panel on the
right, auto-hide.  I could see the screen until I moved over the taskbar (oops).
