Not really.
kapptemplate creates all the toplevel stuff, you just
have to write/edit Makefile.ams, and the KDE source code
is really full of examples of those.

Add them to the _SOURCES line of Makefile.am

> - How can I add existing libraries? (e.g. kwrite and stabctl)

Add them to the _LDADD line of Makefile.am
