you might consider qt-copy from cvsup.

Compile it like that:

make -f Makefile.cvs
./configure -gif -sm
make

And then copy the headers/binaries (or simply everything in directory qt-copy)
to the place where you would like to have qt installed, e.g. /opt/qt2.
