I would like either!
Seems like it was decided by someone and I missed the discussion. 
But Espen Sand had sent me this note: 

From kde-core-devel last Thursday (Stefan Taferner):

It's now Ctrl-E to terminate an app.
And closing a window with Ctrl-W is gone.

I think I saw it on

also but it is not there any more. I may be wrong here.

My personal vote is for Ctrl-Q too since it was/is a standard in 1.1.x and
changing the standard is generally a bad idea unless some real strong
reasons exist.
