Hey database folks: make sure you check out Katabase discussions.  Katabase
includes many different layers, from the actual engine (based on postgres)
to form viewers, data handlers, query languages, etc.  I think the goal of a
generalized data source model makes a lot of sense, and Katabase could be a
great proof-of-concept way to do an initial implementation of the model.
