mmm, perhaps more people should use the "How to help KDE" page. That 
was the way I began. I have got quite a number of requests from people who
wanted to do some work on the hex editor (they thought I was the former
maintainer -cleanup required!), so I can confirm that people are monitoring 
that page and I think it would pay off if it was used more.
