NNTP uses 'references' it like this:

 Msg 1:
	Message-ID: Msg1

 Msg 2:
	Message-ID: Msg2
	In-Reply-To: Msg1
	References: Msg1

 Msg 3:
	Message-ID: Msg3
	In-Reply-To: Msg2
	References: Msg1, Msg2

 Msg n:
	Message-ID: Msgn
	In-Reply-To: Msg(n-1)
	References: Msg1, Msg(n-3), Msg(n-2), Msg(n-1)

The important thing to notice is that References should always contant
the id of message number one, and the program might skip as many
references between the first and the previous message, if the header
starts to get large.

This problem is solved if one skips some references.
