Well, this is not necessarily a good thing. The Config entries should be
used for the loading and saving of preferences whenever a new toplevel
widget is created, destroyed or its preferences edited. This is the
easiest way (ie least code) that I have found so far of allowing
Ok/Apply/Cancel that works - the preference dialog changes the KConfig
settings and the toplevels read their config again. I am against slowing
this down significantly to save a few K; I'd agree if I was shown that the
memory saving was large.
