Hi all.

I really hope that there is still time for a final cvs checkin on the
danish translations before kde 1.1.1, since we are four people who have
been at it for almost 16 hours now, and the translations are some places
very strange.

To try and make you all realize that this was necessary and flame all us
danes that it was not done before, here are a couple of examples on how
the tranlations looked. I took the english text (before the : ) and then
somewhat directly translated the danish translation back to english to
make you see the problems.

case sensitive: size of characters.
-nice: Friendly values.
Rendering lens (<-misspell): There gives lense???
Software: Directly translated to Programware
Application: Usage
Menu Tooltips: Menutricks
Acrobat reader: Postscript viewer

Now please don't take this as an assault on the danish translators, since
I'm absolutely amazed how big a task it has been to just correct some
mistakes here, and I think they have generally done a very good job. But
the translations clearly show that the translators do not know all the
things they're translating. It has sometimes been extremely funny to see
the translations, so the hours have not been that long :-)

We have tried very hard not to introduce problems with duplicated shortcut
keys and it is our hope that we have introduced less errors on this front
than the ones we have corrected (yes there was a lot).

We have only done kdelibs and kdebase fully, and the kdelnk files in
kdenetwork and kdeutils. The .po files in these and the rest of the
archives and the remainder of the .kdelnk files will have to wait for a
later release.

As a sidenote, we found some apps, that still does not use
layoutmanagement, but we decided against doing anything about it since
this would be unacceptible this close to a release and every layout
management will change to qt 2 anyway.

I (Bo) have accepted to receive all flames on account of our job here, and
I will coordinate with Erik Kjær Pedersen in the future for some good
danish translations.
