Subject: 1.1.1pre1 on HP-UX 11. Bugs found ?
I just finished installing KDE 1.1.1pre1 on HP-UX 11. I used egcs 1.1.2 and
qt 1.44 for the task.
It works ok. The parts of KDE that really gave me headaches, I simply skipped.
kdm is one of them.
Having used in (on HP-UX) for a few hours, I have noticed a few things that
are strange on HP-UX, but not on Linux.
kvt does not allow me to use accested characters. Same goes for all other
KDE apps. (cant give desktop One a name with accested characters.
I can use non KDE tools (like xterm) in KDE with accested chars.
My workstation is a HP9000/C200 with the Visualize FX2 graphics board, running
in 24 bit mode. Back home I use a linux box in 16 bit graphics. At home I
use a two color background which get's very smoothly mixed. Here on HP-UX
I get very rough colors... reminds me of 8 bit (256) colors.
I can even see the roughness in Icons on my desktop and toolbars.
Does anybody have any hints for me ?
