This happens then and when with konsole - but it's not exclusive to mc.
A reproducable way (50% hit rate ;) is the following way:
- Start a fresh konsole
- New->Shell (x)
- New->Shell (-)
- Select the session marked with (x)
- Hold down CTRL-D, so long until the shell goes down
(not longer!)
- konsole closes the (x) session and goes to first session.
- Now you can't type anything
- Go to the session marked with (-)
- Here you can't type, too
- New->Shell
- Now you can type in every session
BTW: I now made the kvt -> konsole link. Lets see how good konsole is ;-)
