Since about two or three days. The announcement was delayed because I was
pushed to write the source-incompatibility documentation kKeyConfig->KAccel
first. It was a very spontanious decision but we feel it's the right one.

The reasons for pushing that realease are listed in the announcement (hope it's
finally out.).

If you feel that you have great code restructerings planned which are not
that finished that they might fit into the soon to be released 1.1, don't
worry. The main goal for 1.1 will be, that it's in many parts better and in
other parts at least as good as 1.0.

We hope to release more often in the future, half a year between releases is too
long, given the dynamic of the development. More releases are also a good way
to ensure quality.

In other words: If you or any other application developer feels that his
application is unfinished and 3 weeks are not enough to bring it in a stable
state, you can simply go back to an earlier or even the 1.0 version. The real
new stuff can then be included in either a service pack ( ;-) or the following
1.2 release.

Honestly, after the irritations with 1.0 (that mainly stem from the overlength
of the beta phase), it's really also in our interests and plans to let the
developers know immediately about any release plans.

I'd love to do release discussions on kde-devel, but it's so hard to push even
small companies or teams to a release. Several hundred developers almost never
agree, because there's always one more bug to fix and one more feature to
implement.
