For those who (like me) worried about the size of egcs binaries:

Here are options that make them a lot smaller:

-fno-rtti -fno-exceptions

Of course this only works if you don't need rtti or exceptions ;-)

One caveat: build your programs with the normal options at least once 
before releasing. In fact, build them at least once using gcc 2.7.x also.

I have written some code that worked ok on egcs and not on 2.7.x (and 
viceversa too!)
