Well... -- Uwe, you and me we are still running a more or less RHL 4.2
system. It uses glibc 1.99. -- However, the newer glibc (2.05) might
cause troubles.

AFAIK Redhat Linux 5.0 uses glibc on _all_ systems (including RHL/intel).
Again, AFAIK they are using glibc 2.05 (+/-0.01 ;-)) which could introduce
a new bunch of problems not present with the old glibc 1.99 used by 
RHL 4.2/Alpha... :-((

I'm waiting for RHL 5.0 CDs to get available here (or DLD releasing
5.3/Alpha ;-)) to give the newer glibc a try. --- Downloading RHL 5.0 via
my 28.8 modem link is not really an option... ;-)
