Or rather "backport *always* when technically reasonable". By committing code to KDE, 
you're creating an obligation to maintain it. Backporting fixes to stable releases 
falls under this obligation for maintenance.

Sure, it's not always fun, but as Dominik points out (and I fully agree), it's very 
important for people to actually get our work and present KDE as high-quality 
software.
