Hi all,
As I mentioned before, I really want to push kde3to4 to the level where
it can be included in kde4.2, I have had four public releases on my own
so far and the reception has been good, both here and on kde-apps. There
are still some outstanding bugs (the kdev regex isn't perfect, kdepim
settings/data break for some people, it should be able to locate and
make suggestions on the kde3 and kde4 directories) but the progress is
good.

So I started thinking that if I want to pursue this for 4.2 - it should
move into playground (probably) at some stage, and this looks like a
good time -as I begin to pursue those things for a solid stable release.

So I read the techbase on getting SVN access, and it left me feeling a
bit unsure of whether I should/could get a commit account. The process
is quite clear, but the requirements are less so - especially the part
about 'who has encouraged you to apply' - since nobody actually has
yet.
Does that mean I shouldn't apply until somebody says 'go for it' ? If
so -is there anyone here who would say it for me?

Basically, I would like to also start contributing to some other
projects over time, but right now my project is new and fairly small - I
think it would be at it's most useful to users if it's available in kde4
proper so they can run it BEFORE any kde4 apps have created settings (as
an import after the fact means much duplication of effort) but it is not
for me by myself to decide if it DOES belong there. I guess I am asking
if getting it into the KDE svn is a good next step toward making it
suitable for that honour - and trying to get a feel for the general
developers feeling about where it belongs.

Ciao
A.J.
