Tested on a 7800GT (Benchmark was moving a wobbly around a bit with
blur enabled) using 173.14.09:

~30fps before applying settings, texture from pixmap mode
~30fps after applying settings, texture from pixmap mode,
InitialPixmapPlacement = 1, 2 and 3
~25fps before applying settings, shared memory mode
~25fps after applying settings, shared memory mode,
InitialPixmapPlacement = 1, 2 and 3

No temperature rise.

Either I didn't apply it correctly or it has absolutely no effect on my system.
