on the LinuxDay in Vienna they have presented SIMON @ work.
Here is - unfortunately in german - Mr.Knopper's statement:

ABER! Zufällig habe ich auf den LinuxWochen in Wien die Entwickler der
Spracheingabe "Simon" getroffen, und was mir dort vorgeführt wurde,
scheint schon sehr gut brauchbar zu sein. Ein Programm zum Trainieren
mit der eigenen Stimme (leider ausschließlich graphisch, für ADRIANE
daher noch nicht brauchbar) ist auch mit dabei.

So, to me it seems, that they have made some kind of progress, which isn't really \
shown/presented on their website.

Indeed that there no free speech corpa's is - no doubt - more than just 
bad. And yes, I agree that Julius seems to be actually the best SR System.

True. And because of that, I hope that Simon will come up with a free 
language model, free speech corpus and free grammar files. I hope to get 
either a Testversion or at least some deeper informations from the 
core-team of Simon.

P.S.: Once I have a Testversion is there anyone else intersted in 
testing Simon? I have been asking for the sources or debian packages...
