The OS, which is the kernel (according to Tanenbaum, some other authors
include system management tools in the definition of an OS), certainly does
not know whether an application is minimised. It just knows about processes,
not even windows (X11 does that), so how could it know whether a window is
minimised? If you insist on your point of view, please at least give an
argument.

It was just an idea, I do not insist on anything. I just wanted to share my
idea and know whether people on the list would have an interest in it.

Since the overall mood about this feature does not seem positive, let's just
forget about the idea and carry on.

Cheers and thanks for all your comments!
