All this autoconf voodoo is making my head hurt!

I use the admin boilerplate that comes with kdevelop for my autoconf needs.

However on kubuntu my app seems to install to /usr/local/kde/bin when 
compiled, though all other kde apps on kubuntu are in /usr/local/bin 
or /usr/bin.

And /usr/local/kde/bin does not seem to be in the path of the non-root user.

Am I missing a trick?
