Hi Bryan,
  You have added some very nice features indeed.  Is there any chance
you could forward port these to Okular?    I know you don't like
Okular (for reasons I don't understand - what is 'kde4 desktop'
exactly that you don't like Okular linking against? )  but it would be
nice for these features to be in Okular rather than bitrotting.
