Subject:    Error running application from program launcher

I've built KDE 3.5.5 from source. When I try to run KOrganizer from the Run 
Command dialogue, I get the message "KDEInit could not launch 'KOrganizer'" . 
Other applications launch OK, and KOrganizer runs successfully from the 
command line. How can I find out what's going wrong?
