hello,

i would like to know how many processors the user has on the machine...
for example, are they running a uniprocessor, or a dual-core, or quad core...

this is because i would like to create QThreads depending on how many
processors they have, so as to balance the load as much as possible

can i read this from a file, or is it an environment variable? i will
use QT and C++ for a KDE application

any help is appreciated.

cheers,
nasser
