Are you trying to work with KDE3 or KDE4?

If KDE3, you are doing OK but you need to checkout from branches/3.5.

If KDE4 you are WAY out of sync with current development and need to
STOP and do some serious reading before you continue. Start here:

You should be aware that KDE4 is more or less completely broken right
now so you may want to give careful consideration to whether or not
you want to invest the time required to get it going.
