There was a little latent bug in Kxkb (KDE keyboard layout switcher) which 
got activated with recent distributions of Xorg: users of non-Latin 
layouts can no longer check "Include Latin layout" box, which is needed 
eg. for proper working of ctrl-key combos.

Although the needed patch would be small anyhow, the proper resolution 
doesn't seem exactly clear at this point. I did make two patches, but I am 
unsure which (if any) to commit. If someone with more devel mileage could 
cf.

in the next couple of days (before 3.5.1 tagging), it would be appreciated.
