Then that should be done as soon as possible, perhaps even for 3.5, because 
now your code, digikam and Krita support raw files and it's really bad to 
have raw files detected as tiffs.

Ah, yes. I probably need something similar, because good exif support is very 
important. Currently, we don't parse the exif data, just get the blob and 
save the blob in the ImageMagick filter. At least there we don't lose 
anything -- but the dcraw-based raw filter won't be able to do that.

I'll study your code closely to see what I can steal for Krita's raw import 
filter :-)
