Right. Which was the reason SUSE forked the SUSE Vera Sans (you have to change
the name if you change Bitstream) - it was a fun experience to create tons of letters 
with lines and dots at random places ;)

But the discussion is pointless, KDE should default to "sans" and be done. fontconfig
will pick Bitstream for english and german and some other font for czech. And if you
downloaded MS web fonts, you will get Verdana or Arial - depending on your fontconfig
setup.
