Gosh, another apps release? Anyway, you can view KDE as the Microsoft (or 
Adobe) of the UNIX desktop: if KDE chooses poppler and says it's required, 
then you've got a pretty dern good chance that poppler will end up available 
on _most_ systems running KDE [1].


[1] Yes, I know you have Solaris. Or AIX. Or run KDE on your PDP-11. So do I. 
Push Poppler Portability, then.
