I, on the other hand, feel exactly the opposite.
While the KDE project should not thwart attempts at making kdelibs run on
Win32, it is not and it should not become our goal to make it so.
In other words, the KDE project was started to give Unix a desktop
environment. That's our goal. And that's where I believe our effort
should be most focused in. I would rather not devote precious hours our
developers have to making KDE/kdelibs run on Windows.
That is not, however, to say that kdelibs will never run on Windows. Other
developers are out there, and part of the work has already been done. We
cannot tell people what to do or not to do, so whoever feels like working
on this, you're welcome to do so.
It's just my opinion that we could use all help in other areas.
As for my code specially, I have almost no knowledge of the Win32 API.
That means I cannot help at all porting my own code to Win32. Someone
else will have to do it if anybody wants kdelibs to run on Win32.
