I think that the focus of KDE shouldn't be porting it to windows. Having a KDE
on windows is, in technical matter, very interesting, but nothing more than
that. I don't see a lot of people switch from explorer.exe to kde.exe as
their shell. After all, "why brake something that works for me well?". The
number of KDE/Windows users will be dramatically low and won't be worth the
effort. We should focus on making KDE better for linux/*nix/*bsd.

Besides that. Hasn't it always been KDE's goal to create an alternative
desktop for unix workstations? I really think this goal should remain like
that. A GPL'ed Qt for windows should not change a thing about that. I am
almost sure that the arguments for GPL'ing Qt for windows weren't "Then we
could port KDE to windows".

The real benifits of a GPL'ed Qt are in my opinion the portability of
academical or educational software, which till now, was mostly written in
GTK, having the problem not being able to use C++ as the
programming-language. GPL'ed Qt brings educational and academical portability
to C++. And that is a good thing.

If KDE on windows wasn't one of KDE's main goals, than leave it like that and
don't let a GPL'ed Qt change that. :)
