It looks like kdevelop uses its own kdbg, at least - the local
variables output from a real kdbg shows at least QStrings - I can see
data and key variables of the QMap, but both are said to be
QString::null even after the program adds data to the QMap... 

Anyway, thanks for the pointers, looks like I have to ask the
kdevelop-people what's going on there...
