It doesn't do anything of the sort. 

It's probably just trying to probe your /dev/sr0 or similar device to see 
if a disk is there, and of what type it is. Now I am uncertain if it's 
mountwatcher, but I am certain it is related to kio_media.

It is your own system configuration that cause the logging.
