I'm afraid to say that they're more of the "ugly hack" variety.. =)

Along the same lines as my kwin question, my patches are generally done
to revert behavior to things I was used to in KDE 2; I'm stubborn with
changes. I'll give you a short-ish bullet-list for a better idea:

kdelibs:
* (kdesktop) Make the desktop list come before Unclutter/Cascade Windows
options in MMB desktop list - It's very often that I'm on another desktop
and this way I can, with the mouse, very quickly jump back to desktop 1.
* (khtml) Remove the ability for JavaScript to change my status bar (I
believe this was added to KDE 3.2 or 3.3.)
* (khtml) Remove the dotted box around links when they're clicked (this
must certainly count as "suit one person's needs"!)
* (kio) Remove the "Keep this dialog box open" checkbox.

kdebase:
* (kdesktop) Remove the ability to rearrange icons (I'd always hit this
by accident, though now I just have desktop icons turned off.)
* (kicker/taskcontainer) Revert to previous look, at least with the
hicolor classic style, meaning sunken buttons look different than
default. Also, minimized windows have () surrounding them rather than
fading out, and active window isn't bold
* (kicker/taskmanager) Moved "Close" option to bottom of list, as it's
the most frequent RMB option I choose and bottom is easiest to hit.
* (klipper) I believe KDE 1 had this behavior: Selections are pushed
from the bottom up, and entries like Quit, Configure, etc are placed
at the top. Again, as with the previous hack, I most frequently use
the last selection, so making it easiest to hit is much more important
to me than conforming to interface guidelines.
* (konsole) Change default $TERM setting to xterm-color. Also, don't
display "Konsole -" in the title of the window; I have my shell set up
to display the title of whatever's running and with a semi-full
taskbar all I would see is "Konsol" or similar. Although regarding
konsole, I'm actually using a KDE 2 version because the KDE 3 konsole
still has grey bars at the top and bottom in full screen, no frame
mode. I believe this is actually a Qt issue.

So, as you can see, it's all really stuff that wouldn't have much of an
effect on people other than me. I'm just trying to keep some basic
things similar while getting benefits of new releases. I'm really keen
on seeing KHTML from 3.3.1, for example!

If it winds up being something that might be configurable, and you need
someone to do any gruntwork in that area, let me know and I'll do
whatever is needed - although I know how opposed the KDE project is to
"let's make every tiny thing configurable", and rightly so. =)

Or, if it's just a method or two that need some non-trivial hacking, if
you told me which they were I could start poking around in them. I
could always use more knowledge about how X works, anyway!

Thanks,
Chris
