Because GCC is open source, Intel's is not, and it gains market share by 
having users. As pointed out, Intel have that compiler for usual corporate 
tactics. By not using it, we users can affect the market.

However, above I assumed that open source is good(so yes, it's subjective). 
One can constantly go after what is cheapest and fastest, or acknowledge the 
rights and solid software open source gives. Linux, Apache, KDE and so forth, 
doesn't rock only because there's good developers behind them.
