Sure, there are more important things... all in all, we're still free to choose and \
that is, IMHO, one of the foundations of free software. For side projects, what's the \
point in chosing gcc instead of Intel compiler if (1) it is faster, (2) it is free \
and (3) you have an Intel processor? Besides that, if you're going to develop free \
software, specially licensing it through *GPL, then you will somehow distribute the \
source also. Then again, what's the point in chosing gcc? AFAIK, freedom is just \
that: you choose you think it's better for you, what suit your needs.
Ok, some might say that this benefits Intel processors... well, after all, we're \
still free, aren't we? So, if you to want to develop portable software, portable \
binaries, go ahead and choose gcc.
