Yes, that is a problem, because then it is not a KDE application. Being a
KDE app means - as Waldo said - using the KDE technologies and integrating
with the desktop. There are plenty of other ways to distribute your
application so that it will be picked up and can be used in the KDE
environment.

Perhaps because he doesn't have an answer handy? Neither do I, for that
matter.
