Try changing the .la file second line from:
# Generated by nvidia-installer: 1.0.5
to
# Generated by nvidia-installer: 1.0.5 (created by libtool)

Configure specifically checks for "Generated by ... libtool"

If it still doesn't find it try coping libGL.la and the libGL.so files 
to /usr/X11R6/lib. Or recompile QT with GL support.
