Hi,

I am currently trying to make a patch to my favorite mediaplayer to make it
stay-on-top using a commandline option. So browsing
http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/wm-spec/wm-spec-1.3.html i found that
_NET_WM_STATE_ABOVE is the recommended hint to use (and gnome use it), but
KDE (v.3.1) uses a hint called _NET_WM_STATE_STAYS_ON_TOP, and it doesn't
work with the other hint, why not? It is understandable that KDE has defined
its own hints, but why not support the standard? Is this going to be
changed/supported?

If this is an already resolved thing, or the wrong place to ask I'm sorry.

btw, i'm not on this list so please CC me!!

Best regards,

Tomas
